Abstract

Description is given of the anatomy of Psilotum nudum collected from Pachmarhi (MP), India. The rhizome possesses a protostele with little differentiated mesarch protoxylem points. In aerial green part of the plant sclerenchyma develops in the stele with distinct exarch protoxylempoints. Phlobaphene is present in rhizome, basal portion of aerial part and also develops at the point of dichotomy. A reconstruction of the anatomy as seen in longitudinal section is attempted.
