Abstract

Background: COVID-19 has turned the world upside down. Everything has been impacted. coronavirus (also known as Covid-19) reported to have started in December 2019 from Wuhan, China, and rapidly spread all over the world.

Aim: This study was aimed to identify the level of knowledge regarding impact of covid 19 on public transportation among general public.

Subjects and Methods: A descriptive study was conducted among general public Puducherry. Sample size was 50, selected through convenience sampling. The approach used was quantitative approach and design was descriptive survey design. Data was collected by using self-structured questionnaire related to socio demographic variables and associated knowledge questions was assessed by Likert scale.

Results: The study sample comprised of 50 general public in selected areas at Puducherry. The researcher Selected 4 areas such as Gorimedu, Lawspet, Mudaliarpet, Murungapakkam in Puducherry. The study was conducted on 50 general public based on Convenience sampling technique. Data was collected by using self-structured questionnaire prepared by researcher. Majority of them 31(62%) had adequate knowledge, 17(34%) had moderate knowledge and 2(4%) had inadequate knowledge regarding impact of COVID-19 on public transportation among general public.

Conclusion: The present study concluded that there was an adequate knowledge regarding impact of Covid-19 on public transportation in general public. Majority of the general public had adequate knowledge.
