Abstract

Background: Evaluation of prevention, control and treatment programs of communicable diseases require national care program. Functional goal of this study is designing a system which is essential in reforming and promoting communicable diseases care program for policy makers.

Methods: This study was a quantitative research and the study population included 202 managers, staff, doctors and nurses of university hospitals and health centers in cities with stratified simple random sampling. A questionnaire was used for data collection. Data analysis was done using SPSS.v.22 software with descriptive and inferential statistics. Then, data collected from the questionnaires were analyzed using LISREL software for modeling.

Results: Individuals without work experience in health with 57.4%, individuals working in clinical departments with 44.1% and individuals with a Bachelor's degree with 56.9% formed the largest sample size. Pearson correlation test was used in the inferential analysis of the variables for the relation and correlation between diseases and aspects of the care program. It can be concluded by comparing the obtained significance level with the margin of error of 0.05 (less than 0.05) that there was a significant relation between the research variables.

Conclusion: In the absence of specific process and instruction to care for communicable diseases in hospitals in Iran, simple and clear instructions can be developed in this regard by taking the characteristics of each hospital into account and collaboration with other health and treatment sectors.
