Abstract

On behalf of a civilizing mission in Africa, Europeans set foot in Africa and resorted to western
education and Christianism to better destabilise African societies. With the advent of independences
in Africa, many Africans decided to adopt the western religion. However one can see that the
implementation of this religion reveals a gap that the writer derides. This derision of Christianism
ranges from paratextuals items to characters’ Christian identity. Since they have adopted new
paradigms, different from the biblical ones, it is vital to rethink Christianism.
