Abstract

In regular clinical practice, DHS is still an overlooked condition. Most patients acquire coping mechanisms. However, finding the proper treatment is challenging, especially when dentists are dealing with mildly symptomatic and more severe episodes, and trial and error tactics are still used on a regular basis. As a result, the development of novel approaches, such as effective treatments to cover exposed dentin, is essential. The use of lasers might be advantageous, resulting in more effective mechanisms and processes that occlude the dentinal tubules.

The aim of this chapter, therefore, is to review and describe the effectiveness of the application of Diode Laser 810 in treating dentinal hypersensitivity, together with some recommendations for the future development of desensitizing strategies.
